About Legacy Productions

About Us

Legacy Productions, established by Mark Walsh and Phil Crawford in 2005, was founded on the belief that ordinary life journeys need to be celebrated, shared among friends and families and passed on to benefit future generations.

For Phil and Mark, it meant developing a variety of visual formats that would allow people to share their stories.

The concept of using audio-visual or still images to produce a record of life was well suited to their expertise in photography and video production.

Mark and Phil have worked together since 1996 as professional photographers and documentary video producers.

In 2003, their film AS I LAY…PIHOPA POMAPARIE, documenting the reinterment of Bishop Pompallier in New Zealand, was a finalist in The University of Otago Short Film Competition.

Their film on the life of Mark’s father IN HIS OWN WORDS, was described by acclaimed New Zealand historian Michael King as ‘an absolute gem’.

Expanding their focus to offer services for individuals and the commercial world was an obvious next step.
